This historic park is situated in the adjacent area of Jagannath University of ​​old Dhaka. Its current name is Bahadur Shah Park. By 1962 the park was known as Victoria Park. There is a tower inside the park, it was built during the renovation of the park in 1962. The monument was built in 1857 in memory of those who were martyred during the Sepoy Mutiny organized against the British Government. The park is a silent witness to the history of India's first independence movement. The English people called the struggle for the independence of this sepoy and people as a sepoy revolt. The rebellion started in January 1857 when Muslim and Hindu communities were excited when a news of a Rifle cartridge named enfield grilled mixed with cow and pork. At this time, the Indian sepoys declared Bahadur Shah as the emperor of India and declared war against the British. Many civilians who were defeated in the terrible bloody struggle during the Sepoy Mutiny and ordinary patriots were hanged in this park. After killing, they did not even hand over their dead bodies to their relatives. Dead bodies are mixed in soil with rubbish.
